Tours Help Recruit Students to CPI’s Secondary Programs

A series of tours are held at Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology to help recruit students into the school’s secondary programs.

On Dec. 6, CPI hosted more than 130 eighth- and ninth-grade students that allowed them to participate in all secondary programs offered at the institute. The “tours” are CPI’s biggest recruitment effort, Vice President of Secondary Education MaryAnn Volders said.

“When they come here, we ask to see how much they know about CPI, and then after the tours we ask them again how many want to attend CPI,” Volders said.

The school hosts four total tours: two for Bellefonte Area students, and one each for students at Bald Eagle and Penns Valley area school districts.
