About Buildings-and-civil-engineering-work

The Buildings and civil engineering works document contains the definitions and terms of general concepts in order to create a vocabulary This applies to civil engineering and buildings. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ It includes: _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  A) The fundamental concepts that can serve as the basis for more specific definitions. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  b) More specific concepts that are used in many areas of construction, and often used in standards, regulations and contracts _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  Road construction and maintenance equipment _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  This document contains the commercial specifications for paver-finishers that are used in road construction. It also provides maintenance procedures for the placement and pre-compaction paving materials. It describes the machine and its parts and provides technical specifications for each. This document does NOT cover specifications commercially available for road wideners, which can perform similar to a paver-finisher in certain conditions. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  Road restraint systems _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  This European Standard provides guidelines for measuring the performance of road restraint system products under impact and severity levels. - Test site data; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  - Definitions of road restraint system; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  - Vehicle specifications (including loading requirements) applicable to vehicles that are used in impact tests _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  - Vehicle instrumentation _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  - Methods and procedures for calculating crash impact data, including severity levels. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  - VCDI. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  These modifications are not intended to change the test criteria in any way. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  EN 1317-5,2007+A1 :2008, ZA.3. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  Track Switches and crossings _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  This European Standard defines a "terminology" that is accepted for switching and crossing work. Diagrams are used to show the components and their names. These definitions include the design geometry and constituent parts of switch and cross work and the movement of switches. The relevant section of the series will include additional terminology. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ These definitions are the most commonly used terms for the geometrical form, construction of switches and crossings. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  Track Road-rail machines This document identifies the major hazards, dangerous situations, and events that self-propelled road-rail vehicles - henceforth referred to as machines- face and the associated equipment. These machines can be used for inspection, maintenance, and construction of railway infrastructure. They can also be used to shunt and rescue emergency vehicles. This document explains the hazards involved in assembly, installation, commissioning and travelling on and off-track, as well as how to use the machine, including programming, setting up, changing over and cleaning. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  This document does not address any special measures that may be required in exceptional circumstances. These measures can be negotiated between the manufacturer and the operator. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  These hazards include both the general hazards that machines present and the specific hazards associated with the machine functions. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  1. a) excavation; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  2. b) ballast tamping, ballast cleaning, ballast regulating, ballast consolidating; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  3. c) Track construction, renewal maintenance and repair _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  4. d) lifting; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  5. e) Overhead contact line renewal/maintenance _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  6. f) Maintenance of infrastructure components _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  7. g) Inspection and measurement of components of the infrastructure _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  8. h) working in tunnels; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  9. i) shunting; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  10. j) vegetation control; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  11. k) Emergency Rescue and Recovery _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  During commissioning, maintenance, and servicing. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  It is assumed that a road-rail vehicle can be converted to an EU road-permissible host vehicle. This document does not address this aspect unless it is stated in a specific clause. This document doesn't deal with: _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  1) Specifications regarding the machine's performance and quality; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  2) Machines that use the contact line system to traction; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  3) Specific requirements set by a rail Infrastructure Manager or Urban Rail manager _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  4) Negotiations between the manufacturer of the machine operator to determine additional or alternate requirements. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  5) Requirements for the use and transportation of the machine on a public highway _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  6) Air pressure hazards caused by high-speed trains traveling at speeds exceeding 190 km/h _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  7) Specific requirements that may be required in extreme circumstances, such as extreme ambient temperature (tropical or Polar), see 5.30. _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  8) Highly corrosive and contaminating environment (e.g. because of the presence or potential for chemical reactions; _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  9) Potentially explosive atmospheres _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________  See Annex E for details on other special machines that are used on railway tracks.
