FCC Allenwood, a Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) correctional complex, is looking for a carpentry instructor who is enthusiastic about sharing his/her carpentry experience and knowledge with our male inmate population. Prisons need quality trades instructors with a sense of mission in order to train inmates with the skills necessary to successfully reenter society and become productive members of their communities. The BOP carpentry instructor will receive an excellent salary; law enforcement retirement; and have a regular daytime, family-friendly work schedule with the option to work a 4-day work week. To qualify for this position, you should
Have a current, valid industry-recognized carpentry instructor credential (e.g., NCCER, HBI, UBC, or NAHB instructor certification) along with current OSHA 10 & OSHA 30 certifications
Have at least 3 years of experience in the carpentry field with at least 1 year as an instructor
Be 36 years of age or younger
Be able to pass a basic physical fitness test and firearms training
Be able to pass a background check
