Students will have the opportunity to become skilled in the use of hand and power tools, sheet metal fabrication, welding, frame repair analysis, automotive refinishing, and they will gain a general understanding of the design, construction, and safety features of today’s automobiles.

Mr. Brian Hummel

Mr. Hummel was born and raised in Mifflin County, PA. He graduated from Chief Logan High School and Mifflin-Juniata Area Vocation-Technical School in Collision Repair. He has over 35
years experience in the autobody field, spending the last 25 years as a manager at two different dealerships. While employed at these two dealerships, his shops led the General Motors 20 Groups in Auto- Body/Collision Repair. Brian is an ASE Master-Certified Technician and I-CAR Gold Standard certified. He also has a current Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Physical Damage Appraisal license.

Over the course of these 25 years as a manager, it became difficult to hire quality-trained technicians in the field. So, he chose to leave his management position to train students to be future employees. Brian joined the staff at CPI in the fall of 2014.

Our shop is full of many projects. These projects may be completed individually or in groups, depending on the project. When work arrives in our shop, students will first prepare by writing a computerized estimates meeting current insurance standard qualifications. All projects are focused around minor to major collision repairs, from the most minor door dings to major frame repair and sectioning. Repairs must meet insurance standards and quality. The shop is organized based on Mr. Hummel’s 35 years experience as a manager at two reputable and very profitable body shops.
